So Far

The Clutter Family enjoys a normal morning in Kansas while, across the state, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith get ready head over to their quiet little town and murder an innocent group of people. Capote takes us into the investigation with the police and the suspects. Before that, though, we travel with Smith and Hickock in their Chevy sedan across Kansas for a little while. When the arrived in Holcomb, it was a desolate town. "They skirted the northern rim of the town. No one was abroad at this nearly midnight hour, and nothing was open except a string of desolately brilliant service stations."

Basically everyone is in question, seeing as though no one had the motive. The whole town of Holcomb is thrown into chaos and disbelief of this atrocity. Even Bobby Rupp was a suspect but he was cleared when he took a lie detector test.
